Ventix XCell1 ™ microcellulose has remarkable properties allowing to push back creation boundaries of new materials. Unlike commonly marketed microcellulose, Ventix XCell1™ microcellulose is of type I. In practice, this means that it is more reactive than type II cellulose coming from kraft and (bi)sulphite processes, it is not ionically charged which makes it naturally well dispersed when in solution. By its intrinsic characteristics, Ventix XCell1™ cellulose overcomes several classical problems met by biobased additives, fillers, reinforcements and resins.
When used as reinforcement, lignocellulosic fibers offer many benefits. They are relatively inexpensive, readily accessible, lightweight and lead to better specific resistance and higher rigidity than the fiberglass reinforced composites.Plant cellulose, for example, has an estimated Young's modulus of 136 GPa compared to 75 Gpa for fiberglass.
